SBI PO Vacancy 2026 Out – Total No. of Posts – 1500. The vacancies are for regular & backlog vacancies as per the reservation norms. The category-wise break up is: 588 vacancies for the Unreserved (UR) category; 390 for Other Backward Classes (OBC); 144 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS); 234 for Scheduled Castes (SC); and 144 for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Educational Qualification
Essential is a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

Different categories have different number of attempts allowed. General and EWS candidates can attempt the exam 4 times, OBC candidates can attempt the exam 7 times and SC/ST candidates have no such limitation as long as they are within the prescribed age limit.

SBI PO Salary 2026
The SBI PO pay scale is ₹48,480 – 2000/7 – 62,480 – 2340/2 – 67,160 – 2680/7 – 85,920 and this means that the basic salary starts from ₹48,480 per month and gradually increases with the passage of time. In the first stage, basic pay is increased by ₹2,000 every year for 7 years and it becomes ₹62,480. In the next stage, the basic pay rises to ₹67,160 and the salary increases by ₹2,340 every year for 2 years. And, in the last stage, the pay increases by ₹2,680 per year for 7 years. The maximum basic pay after all the stages will be ₹85,920.

SBI PO Preliminary Exam 2026
Exam Pattern
The SBI PO Preliminary Examination is conducted in 3 sections – English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability for 40, 30 and 30 marks respectively. The total marks for the exam are 100. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes and it is the qualifying round for the next stage of selection process.
SBI PO Main Exam 2026
Objective Test
The SBI PO Main Exam has four objective type sections. Reasoning & Computer Aptitude – 60 marks. Data Analysis & Interpretation – 60 marks. Banking/Economy Awareness – 50 marks. English Language – 40 marks. Total marks are 200 marks. Afterwards there is a descriptive test and it is an important part of the final selection.
