The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) has announced a notification for 179 vacancies in the CCRUM Recruitment 2026. The vacancies are for Group A, Group B and Group C categories and there are opportunities for Medical, Research, Technical, Administrative, Nursing, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Clerical backgrounds. Eligibility Criteria

Before applying online, candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria for the respective post as prescribed.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification is different for each post. Candidates should possess the requisite qualification from a recognised university/institution by the closing date of the application.

Group A Posts 

The Research Officer posts are specialist posts and candidates are required to have post graduate or professional qualifications in the relevant discipline. The candidates should have the prescribed educational qualification for the respective specialisation such as Unani Medicine, Pathology or Physiology and any experience stipulated in the official notification. These posts are good for those candidates who are looking for a career in medical research and scientific studies under the Ministry of AYUSH.

Group B Posts

Group B category includes technical, nursing, research, laboratory and administrative positions. Qualifications vary by position.

Assistant Research Officer: Candidates should have Postgraduate or professional qualification in relevant field like Pharmacology or Pharmacognosy/Botany.

Staff Nurse: The applicant should have the prescribed nursing qualification from a recognised institution and should have fulfilled the registration requirements where applicable.

Accounts Officer: Qualifications in commerce, finance, accounts or related disciplines are required along with the required experience if specified.

Research Assistant: Usually requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the relevant subject, for example, Chemistry or Botany.

Investigator (Statistics): Candidates must have qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics or an allied subject.

Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT): Candidates must have a Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or any equivalent qualification.

Degree and qualification in Library and Information Science Library & Information Assistant

Proof Reader: Applicants must have proficiency in the concerned language along with the educational qualifications prescribed in the notification.

Posts in Group C

Group C comprises clerical, technical, field and support staff positions. Educational qualification varies as per the post.

Hindi Assistant: Graduate degree with Hindi as subject or equivalent qualification as prescribed.

Pharmacist: Diploma or Degree in Pharmacy or such other qualification as may be recognised by the competent authority.

Social Worker: Bachelor or Master degree in Social Work or its equivalent.

Radiographer: Diploma/Degree in Radiography/ Medical Imaging Technology.

Compounder: Qualification in Unani Pharmacy or equivalent discipline as specified in.

Stenographer Grade III: Candidates should have passed the prescribed educational qualification with proficiency in shorthand and typing.

Upper Division Clerk (UDC): Graduation from recognised university with knowledge of computer as prescribed.

Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Candidates should possess the requisite educational qualification with typing proficiency as per the government norms.

Staff Car Driver: Driving experience, knowledge of vehicle maintenance and valid driving licence for the category of vehicles prescribed.

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates must have the minimum educational qualification for recruitment of central government MTS.

Age Limit

The age limit is minimum and maximum varies according to the post applied for. Candidates can refer official notification for age criteria for each post.

Selection Process

The CCRUM Recruitment 2026 selection process varies as per post and category. Recruitment process will have one or more stages for candidates applying for Group A, Group B and Group C posts. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in the prescribed stages, followed by document verification and medical fitness.

Computer Based Testing (CBT)

All the posts under CCRUM Recruitment 2026 will have Computer Based Test (CBT) as the first stage of selection. The exam is conducted online to test the candidate’s knowledge of the subject, reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and English language. Candidates have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks to get shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process.

Competency Examination

Skill Test will be held only for the posts where practical skills are required like Stenographer Grade III, Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Staff Car Driver and other technical or skill based posts. The skill test is generally qualifying in nature and is conducted to test the typing speed, shorthand proficiency, driving ability or other job specific skills depending on the post.

Interviewing

Candidates applying for Group A posts, especially for the post of Research Officer will be required to appear for Personal Interview after qualifying the Computer Based Test. The interview evaluates the candidate's professional knowledge, communication skills, research aptitude and overall suitability for the post.

Verification of Documents

Candidates qualifying in all the applicable stages of selection process shall be called for Document Verification (DV). Candidates need to submit some original documents at this stage such as educational certificates, age proof, category certificates, experience certificates (if applicable), identity proof and other documents mentioned in the notification. Failure to submit the required documents may lead to the cancellation of the candidature.

Medical Examination 

Medical Examination The last step of the recruitment process. The candidates shortlisted after verification of documents will have to pass a medical fitness test to see that they are fit with the health standards prescribed by CCRUM. Subject to declaration by the competent medical authority of medical fitness of the candidates.

Exam Pattern

The CCRUM Recruitment 2026 exam shall be conducted online in the form of a Computer Based Test (CBT). The exam pattern will be different for each post applied. Selection process for Group A (Research Officer) posts will be of 100 marks consisting of Computer Based Test of 70 marks and Personal Interview of 30 marks. For the posts of Group B and Group C, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of 100 marks Computer Based Test followed by Skill Test wherever applicable. Also, for each wrong answer in CBT, 0.25 marks will be deducted, except for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) post where no negative marking is applicable. CCRUM is expected to inform the detailed subject-wise syllabus, duration of examination and number of questions through detailed recruitment notification or subsequent examination notice.
